Conference 2009 Sponsors

POTA invites you to share your knowledge and experiences by submitting a proposal to present at the 31st Annual POTA Conference in Scranton, Pennsylvania, October 22 - 23, 2010. Proposals can be submitted at any time until midnight March 15, 2010, by using the online form below.

Proposals will be peer reviewed. Review will consider the following: 

  • Timeliness of topic
  • Relevance to occupation-based practice
  • Promotion and use of evidence
  • Appropriateness of objectives, identified target audience and presentation method

Neither names nor affiliations are provided to the reviewers.  All submissions are given equal opportunity, and names of both submitter and reviewer remain anonymous.  Written notification of proposal acceptance or rejection will be provided by May 15, 2010.

NOTE: All session presenters must register for conference. Presenters are eligible to receive reduced conference registration fee (2 presenters per 50 min., 1 hr. 50 min., & poster sessions; 3 presenters per institute).

NOTE:  Proposals submitted by a student must include a faculty or practitioner mentor.

Important: Before beginning online submission of your paper, be sure you have a saved copy of your paper proposal in the event that an error occurs during processing. It is recommended that you prepare your Abstract and Program Description/Learning Objectives ahead of time and copy and paste the information into the form when you are ready to submit it.

Title: 8 words or less

Abstract
The abstract (40 words or less) is printed in the program to describe the session. This section is not applicable for poster sessions

Program Description/Learning Objectives
The program description is a well written, well organized narrative which includes the purpose, intent, methods, content of the presentation, and at least three learning objectives which are clear, behavioral, and relevant to occupational therapy. NOTE: No author names or any type of identifying information should appear in the program description and it should be less than 300 words.


Session Type

Please choose one of the following session types:

50 min. Session
This level of session allows for presentation of scientific/technical information that is usually in lecture format but may involve other teaching methods.

1 hr 50 min. Session
This level of session allows for presentation of scientific/technical information that is usually in lecture format but may involve other teaching methods.

Institute (3 hr 50 min)
This level of session provides an in-depth exchange of professional information. This session should include a variety of teaching methods and opportunities for audience participation.

Poster Session
The Poster Session allows for a visual presentation of scientific/technical information.
NOTE: At least 1 presenter is required to be present at the interactive component of the Poster Session – Meet the Authors
